While you have been waiting in line for brunch at the notorious spots, you’ve been missing out on this tasty joint with an affordable menu: The Wayland.
This neighborhood spot with a unique menu, has not only delicious food, but decadent cocktails. Interested in something with a kick? Try the Smoked and Roasted mescal drink—a personal favorite of mine. If Pisco is more you style, go for the Off the Grid. But, in all honesty, every cocktail I have tried here is delicious. For those of you not interested in a boozy brunch, go for the delicious Beast Toast, an all-time crowd pleaser. I have brought people to this joint just to try it, and it wins over their hearts every time. Again, I have not tasted a dish here I did not like, so feel free to experiment with the menu.
A huge plus is that in my experience, I have not had to wait for a table. Although I am sure there are exceptions because the food and drinks are too delicious to not draw a crowd. If you come back in the evening, you will find a sizable crowd enjoying the drinks and atmosphere, which is rustic chic. Navigate around the large tree trunk in the center to get to the bar, and bartenders are always available, happy to make suggestions depending on what you’re looking for. Talk to your friends, take a seat, enjoy your drink and music, which has always pleased me. It is the perfect vibe for a relaxing meal and a fun evening. Aren’t those the best places?
